Great Township Cleanup, 1000 Feet of Street at a Time

Middle Smithfield’s Litter and Beautification Sub-Committee, has organized an ambitious cleaning project to clean Route 209 in thousand-foot increments. The event will take place on April 26, starting at 10am.

Middle Smithfield Township’s Litter and Beautification Sub-Committee (aka the “Make it Pretty Committee”), is springing ahead with an ambitious kick-off event: cleaning Route 209, a thousand feet at a time.

“Having a trash-free Main Street is good for business!  People like to shop in pretty places” says L&B Lead Coordinator Holly Halterman, who is working with Parks and Recreation Chairperson Joyce Fenical to beautify the township. To tackle such an ambitious project, the event will have volunteers divided into teams to focus on main areas of 209:

  • Route 209 and Sellersville intersection (the old Dutchman property, WaWa, McDonald’s, CVS)
  • Pub 570/Miggy’s Deli/McCole Road
  • PriceChopper intersection
  • Any other interested business fronts

The township will provide two volunteers for every one volunteer offered by local businesses.
