Holiday Tree Drop Off

After you ‘undeck’ your halls and remove all your ornaments, don’t just dump your Christmas tree– compost it!

Now that the holidays are over, residents of Middle Smithfield Township can now discard their trees at the Oak Grove Multi-Municipal Composting center, free of charge. The compost site will open for residents to drop off trees from December 26th until January 31stduring the hours of 8:00am to 2:00pm.

The composting center will process these trees into mulch.  When the mulch is ready, it will be offered free of charge to all Middle Smithfield residents. For more information about the composting site, visit www.ogmmcpb.com

Artificial Christmas Trees will not be accepted for recycling. Before dropping off their trees, residents are reminded to follow the following tips:

  • remove all accessories, including ornaments and any stands,
  • do not put the Christmas trees in a plastic bag.

The Composting center is located on Oak Grove Road in Middle Smithfield Township. For more information call 570-223-8920 ext. 100 or visit ogmmcpb.com.
