Master Gardener Class- May 7th

Gardening Classes

Saturday May 7th, 9 am-2 pm at the Whispering Pines

Enriching Your Life Through Gardening Classes FOR Gardeners BY Gardeners:

Monroe & Pike County Master Gardeners team up to give a series of gardening classes from 9am – 2pm on Saturday May 7th. To register, call Julie at 570-421-6430.

$20 per person (Free to MST Volunteers and those with a community gardens plot)

The Keynote Speaker is horticultural educator Emelie Swackhamer, who will demonstrate endless possibilities in gardening.   The classes that follow are all taught by Master Gardeners and include :

 

  • Herbs & Everlasting: Culinary to Creative by herbalist Gretal Walker;
  • Rain Gardens: by arborist Mary Pat Appel;
  • Miniature & Fairy Gardens: (great for kids!) by author Pam Hubbard;

And, based on the great success of Middle Smithfield Township’s newest park, the Community Gardens Park up on Coolbaugh Road:

  • Developing a Community Garden by Township Supervisor and Master Gardener Annette Atkinson.
