Procedure for Determining Building Permit Fees: New Construction If a building project is all new construction, the Permit Fee is determined by the construction value based on the Type of Construction Factor (see table). The permit fee includes inspection costs of building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical disciplines.
EXAMPLE: 1,500 square foot new house, R-3 Construction Type 5 B (70 x .66x1,500x.01=$693.00 Building Permit Fee)
Procedure for Determining Building Permit Fees: Alterations, Renovations, Repairs and Minor Work A copy of the actual contract must be provided. The fee schedule for building inspections only is as follows: Contracts over $1,000 are priced as follows: $60.00 for the first $1,000 of work; $5.00 per $1,000 of work thereafter. Example: $5,000 renovation: $60.00 + $20.00=$80.00 for building inspections. Contracts under $1,000 are priced at a $30.00 flat fee. All other disciplined inspections are calculated based on individual fee schedules. TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION
****** Fees adjusted to nearest dollar******* Plumbing/Mechanical Equipment fixtures and Devices All fixtures, appliances (current and future), fuel gas and oil piping (per connected device), including, but not limited to: water closet, urinal/bidet, bath tub, lavatory, shower, floor drain, sink, dishwasher, drinking fountain, washing machine, hose bibb, water heater, nontestable backflow preventor or trap primer. $10.00 per fixture Grease traps, oil separators, backflow preventers (testable type), sewer pumps, interceptors, water cooled air conditioners, refrigeration units, utility service connections (water and sewer), steam boilers, hot water boilers, active solar systems, hot air furnaces, etc. $ 65.00 per unit Periodic Inspections: Cross connections and backflow preventers that are subject to testing, required every three (3) months. $ 45.00 per inspection For each such device when tested three (3) times annually and each device when broken down and tested. $ 115.00 once annually Check with the Building Official for fees of any service(s), equipment or fixtures) not listed above.
