Please submit a letter of interest to the Board
of Supervisors, Middle Smithfield Township, 25 Municipal Drive, East
Stroudsburg PA 18302 if you would be willing to volunteer for a township
committee or commission. Vacancies are posted after a letter of
resignation has been officially accepted by the Board of Supervisors at
a business meeting.
Planning Commission: 4 year
term; A volunteer board charged with advising the Supervisors, and
guiding land use and development at the municipal level. Meets
once a month.
Zoning Hearing Board: 5 year
and 3 year terms;A volunteer board to help assure fair application and
administration of the township zoning ordinance by hearing appeals on
the zoning officer's determinations. Meets as needed.
Regional Park Commission:
annual term;To increase healthy economic growth for existing businesses
and attract new business.
Appeals Board: 3 year term; A
volunteer board to help assure fair application and administration of
the building code by hearing appeals on the building code enforcement
officer's determinations. Meets as needed.
Vacancy Board: annual term; A
registered voter of MST who helps to select a supervisor, tax collector
or auditor should a vacancy occur.
Parks and Recreation Director:
annual term; Stewardship of township parks and township sponsored
recreational activities.
Emergency Management Director:
annual term; Prepares and coordinates all hazard emergency and disaster
operational plans.
