A special meeting of the Middle Smithfield Township Board of
Supervisors was held at the
Members present were: Scott R Schaller, Robert (Bob) Spano Sr. and Ronald (Ron) Clewell. Also present were Jennifer Wise, Sherry Predmore and several township residents.
Scott Schaller made a motion to authorize payment of the listed payable. Bob Spano seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0. A copy of the listing is attached and made a part of these minutes.

The secretary advised the Board that the contract for the

Solicitor’s Report:
Attorney Wise reported on the billing agreements for the EMS Memorandum of Understanding. Not all agreements have been received. The Solicitor will call Bushkill Emergency Corps after the meeting to obtain signatures.
There was no Engineer’s Report.
Ron Clewell gave an update on his review of bids received for 2008 equipment rentals. Low bidders were as follows:
Commonwealth Equipment for the screening plant and rock crusher as their quote included mobilization costs.
Low bidder for all other equipment with the exception of the 160 hydraulic excavator and the mini excavator was Five Star Equipment.
Low bidder for the 160 hydraulic excavator and the mini excavator was Highway Equipment.
Scott Schaller made a motion to award item numbers 1 through 5 to Five Star Equipment, item numbers 6 and 7 to Highway Equipment and the screening plant and crusher to Commonwealth Equipment. Bob Spano seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.
Public comment:
Al Decker questioned construction of sidewalks and shrubbery at the CVS and Friendly’s site.
Gary Summers asked for an update on CCP. Attorney Wise responded that the settlement agreement is still with Attorney Cleary.

RFP’s have been received for the
Gary Summers questioned if the township would be involved if the dam at Pond Creek were breached. The developer is working with DEP. The Board will research the matter further.
