The Middle Smithfield Township Open Space Advisory Board meeting was called to order December 4,2006 at 6:50 P.M. Members, Judy Putek, John Ferro, Joe Prinzo, Jeff Reichel, Maureen Krinsky, Fred May, and Pat La Peter were present. Supervisor, Debbie Kulick, attended.

A motion to approve the October 2, 2006 minutes was made by Pat A. Griffin. Fred May made the second. The minutes were approved.

COURTRIGHT LANE

A motion to write a MSTOSAB letter of approval for the purchase of conservation easements on the Raughley property was made by Maureen Krinsky. Fred May made the second. The motion carried unanimously.

A motion to request the Board of Supervisors approve grant application for the Raughley property was made by Jeff Reichl, seconded by Fred May and carried unanimously.

A motion to request a letter of approval from the Middle Smithfield Planning Commission was made by Jeff Reichl, seconded by John Ferro, and carried unanimously.

EIT

A discussion on the ballot failure suggested a wait of a couple of years before placing the resolution on the ballot again. John Ferro feels we should work one on one- in a door-to-door campaign style. “Open Space” be replaced with different terminology was also discussed.

GRANT UPDATE

Judy Putek reported that a memorandum of understanding for the acquisition of the 3 Boy Scout Parcels has been received,

BOY SCOUT PARCELS A motion to write a MSTSOAB letter of approval for the purchase of 3 Boy Scout parcels was made by Fred May. Maureen Krinsky made the second. The motion carried.

A motion to request the Board of Supervisors approve the grant application for the acquisition of 3 Boy Scout parcels was made by Jeff Reichl, seconded by Fred May and unanimously carried.

NEW BUSINESS Judy Putek announced A Monroe County Open Space Round Table would be held at the Environmental Center at 4 PM on December 6.

A motion to set the meeting date of the MSTOSAB for 2007 to quarterly meetings on the first Wednesday of a month at 6:30 PM was made by Fred May and seconded by Jeff Reichl. The motion carried. Judy Putek will announce the dates at the next meeting, Jan 3,2007.
