Minutes

 

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:50 pm.  Present members: Al Decker, Joyce Fenical, Virginia Manbeck, Pat LaPeter and Maria Oliveras.  Guest in attendance Laurel Bishow

 

Joyce Fenical made a motion to approve the May 5, 2008 minutes. Virginia Manbeck seconded the motion. Motion carried 5 – 0.

 

Echo Lake Park

The farmers market was discussed.  Al Decker was waiting for a call back from the organizer of the Stroudsburg’s Framers Market.  The market moved from the Dansbury Depot area to Ann Street.  Al Decker will try again to contact the person in charge.

 

Municipal Park

The consulting firm of Barry Isett & Associates was chosen to do the Master Plan for the Judy Putek Memorial Park.  Virginia Manbeck stated that she received an email from DCNR approving the firm of Barry Isett & Associates.  Krista Schneider is the lead consultant in charge of the project.  Barry Isett & Associates submitted a time line schedule for the project.  A kick off meeting has been scheduled for June 16th at 6:45 pm.  A letter will be sent to Carl Putek advising him that the sign with Judy’s name has been erected at the Park entrance and flower beds have been planted around the sign.  The committee will make a request to have an article placed in the Township’s newsletter and Maria will follow up with the Supervisors to establish a date for a dedication ceremony.  Al Decker asked where did the funds collected for the Judy Putek Open Space Foundation went to.  Maria stated that the check for the funds went to Carl Putek, Judy’s husband.

 

Resica Park

The Day in the Park event was discussed.  Maria stated that registration flyers went out to vendors who participated in previous years.  Al Decker requested to know how much money  

the Township put into rebuilding the little league baseball field.  To be discussed at the next meeting.

 

Halloween Trail

Discussions to place regarding the need for volunteers.  Maria will contact Bernie Kelly from the Foxmoor Village to set a date so the committee members can tour the facility.  Joyce Fenical and Virginia Manbeck stated that we should first see the facility and then decide if we can hold the event there.  Maria Oliveras stated that due to volunteer issues maybe the event can be down scaled to just provide a haunted trail for the little kids or maybe just have a costume contest. 

 

 

 

Other

 

Al Decker stated he wants to setup a date with Ron Clewell to conduct an inventory of the park items that are in the trailer.  Al Decker stated he has a grill to donate.

 

Pat LaPeter discussed the dam at Mr. Nebo.  It was suggested that the surrounding Township’s should get involved.

 

The Rain Barrel seminar was discussed.  Maria Oliveras will follow up with the Conservation District to get a guest speaker.

 

The next meeting will be a start up meeting with Barry Isett and Associates on June 16th  at 6:45

 

The meeting was adjourned at 8:10.
