2019 Trunk or Treat

Middle Smithfield Township’s Park and Recreation Board will host its fourth annual Trunk or Treat, at Resica Park on October 26, 2019 at noon for the children up to age 12 of our township.  Resica Park is located next to Resica Elementary School at 1 Gravel Ridge Road in East Stroudsburg.  In the event of bad weather, we will be inside the Resica Elementary School gymnasium.

What is a Trunk or Treat?  The “big kids” (adults) get to dress up and decorate their car, while the children wear a costume, and  go safely from vehicle to vehicle to get their treats without worries.  What better way to clean out the junk in your trunk, and fill it with treats?  Also, the event is completely FREE.

The event also includes face painting, spin art, sand art, and a free pumpkin for each child.

We ask that all vehicles that are participating in the event pre-register so we know we will have enough spots for all vehicles.  The Township buys candy for all participants.  Space will be limited.

Details for the Trunk or Treat:

When: Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 12 noon, and will last as long as candy supplies last.  In the event of rain, we will be inside Resica School.

Where: Resica Park at 1 Gravel Ridge Road, located next to Resica Elementary School, in East Stroudsburg, PA 18302

Registration: You must pre-register your vehicle if participating in the event by October 24, 2019.  We ask that the vehicles participating in the event be parked in their spots by 11:30am for the safety of the children.

Said Supervisor Mike Dwyer, Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director “We are excited for the return of this annual event, geared toward the whole family.  Trunk or Treat has quickly become one of the favorite annual traditions in our township.  It’s our way of giving back to the community.  Oh, and I get to be Mickey Mantle for a day.  If ever you have a choice between being Supervisor or Mickey Mantle – always be Mickey Mantle.”
