OF PROPOSED DIVISION OF THE MIDDLE SMITHFIELD EAST AND WEST ELECTION DISTRICTS IN THE TOWNSHIP OF MIDDLE SMITHFIELD INTO FOUR (4)
ELECTION DISTRICTS
The Election Board of Monroe County has filed a Petition with the Court of Common Pleas of Monroe County at Docket No: 7 CV 2023 to divide Middle Smithfield East and West Election Districts in the Township of Middle Smithfield into Four (4) Election Districts to be known as Middle Smithfield 1, Middle Smithfield 2, Middle Smithfield 3, and Middle Smithfield 4. A copy of the map displaying the proposed Four (4) Election Districts is attached to this notice.
The current Election District in Middle Smithfield East has 5,637 registered electors and Middle Smithfield West has 4,974 registered electors. As proposed, Middle Smithfield 1, after division, would have 3,168 registered voters, Middle Smithfield 2, after division, would have 2,862 registered electors, Middle Smithfield 3, after division, would have 2,801 registered electors and Middle Smithfield 4, after division, would have 3,784 registered electors.
The Petition filed by the Election Board of Monroe County will be considered by the Court of Common Pleas on December 18, 2023 at 1:lSp.m. in a Courtroom to be determined, Monroe County Courthouse, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
ANY PERSON WHO OBJECTS TO THE PETITION MUST FILE HIS OR HER OBJECTIONS WITH THE CLERK OF COURT OF THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS OF MONROE COUNTY PRIOR TO THE HEARING DATE.
