The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Monroe County are launching a campaign called Veg-to-Table. The purpose of the project is to provide education to food-insecure families by helping them learn how to grow their own food. The goal for the spring of 2023 is to provide tomato plants in 5-gallon buckets with growing instructions to 250 food-insecure families. The plants will be distributed at a local foodbank.
To help with the cost of buying tomato seeds, potting soil, compost and buckets for Veg-to-Table campaign, donations are graciously welcome. All contributions will be ear-marked for this campaign.
The mission of the Penn State Extension Master Gardener program is to provide fact-based, scientifically researched information for the public on sustainable gardening practices.
