Join us August 6th- August 7th for an exhibit of 50 quilts created, pieced and hand or machine quilted by residents of Middle Smithfield Township, on display at the Middle Smithfield Township Community & Cultural Center, at 5200 Milford Road.
An opening reception will be held on Friday, August 5 from 6 pm to 8 pm with light refreshments, and exhibit hours are Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7 from 11 am to 5 pm.
Due to their love of quilting, Jennifer C. Rourke and Patricia J. Griffin long time quilters, friends and township residents volunteered to organize this exhibit.
Other quilts in the exhibit have been made by residents. There are traditional pieced quilts, appliqued, embroidered, batik and painted fabric. The designs include popular patterns such as Texas Star, Wedding Ring, Log Cabin and Nine Patch and other one-of-a-kind designs.
The exhibit will also feature a quilt on loan from Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm in Stroudsburg, celebrating their 50th Anniversary. The quilt was designed by a resident of Middle Smithfield and other residents contributed to making some of the sections
